AVOID OPERATIONS. Extract from London "Medical Magazine" for May, 1910:—"Thes<> ferments obtained from the papaw, aro made up in the form of an ointment and gargle, and are recommended as an application to enlarged glandular tissues, tumours, and ulcerations. The present preparation seems .to combine the most active ferments of the plant iv a successful manner. Its activity was demonstrated by -^veral cases of hypertrophy of the turbi?ol bodies, and in cases of enlarged tonsils. After three or four weeks' application there was very, very marked improvement. There can bo no doubt that the prepar ation is unusually effective, and should prove very serviceable, obviating the necessity for operative' procedures in many cases. Such operative procedures are often adopted much too hastily. The present ferments are well deserving of a trial, and in many cases we hai'o no doubt the result will bo satisfactory.' 1 Papaw Ointment, Is Gd (for ulcers tumours, goitre, and poisoned wounds); Papaw Papaya to, 2s 6d (for nasal catarrh); Pnpaw Tonic, 2s Gd • J'apaw Pile Cure, 2s 6d.
