PARLIAMENT'S LABOURS.

Heroic efforts have been in ado to-day by both Houses to grapple with a mass of important, but uninteresting legislation, which has to bo cleared off at the last moment. Morning sittings were held, and a .big gap made in tho order papers, but the probability of tho <?nd coming to-morrow (Wednesday) now appears to be remote. The main cause of probable discussion, and therefore delay, will be the 'report of the Public .Accounts Committee on the administration of the State Guaranteed Advances Department. There are rumours of a minority report, but even if this does not eventuate the whole report is apparently going to be the subject of a. lively debate in the House. Mr, Hine, chairman of thr> Committee, mentioned to-night that the report and evidence are being # printed, and will bo ready to-morrow.'
