TJio sequel to the..httle vessel's gaJlant trip occurred, when, at a pleasing little function in the Council Chambers, tin* Mayor, on behalf of tho public of Gisborne, presented each member of the crew with a suitably inscribed gold medal as recognition of a gallant act, and as a. memento of an adventurous voyage. Tho Hipi's crew on the night referred to was as follows.:—Captain Palmer, A. F. Long (engineer), A. Houghton (fireman), ".T. Olive, W. Fitamaurice, T. Maunsell and E. Warren (crew). All received medals. Captain Gumming (Harbour Master) and a representative Of tho Gisbomo "Times" wore also on board. The occasion was also taken' advantage of to prpsiMifr to Mr. W. H. Douglaß tinl bronsM* medal awarded by the Koyal Humano Society for his plucky attempt to save a boy'named Gordon Brown from drowning on April 11.
