■ It is claimed that, as the result of long-continued investigations at the Hygienic Institute of the Rostock j University, the elusive microbe of foot-and-mouth disease lias been discovered, and also that a scrum has been prepared from the dead microbe cultures, which can bo used effectively for inoculation. It is said to give immunity to tho disease. The experiments are being continued to ascertain the exact strength that should be used, and to find out for 'what period the inoculation confers immunity!
