WANGANUI PRESS COMMENT.
THE PRINCE'S BONA FIDES
Wanganui, July 26. As a footnote to tho Pahiatua message regarding Pikran, the "Wanganui Chronicle" says that when Pikran was in Wanganui he told a well known resident that he had received-a. "call" from Albania three weeks previously, and that he was aware- some time before it actually took place that a rising was contemplated by his fellow countrymen. He stated at Pahiatua that the '"'call" to Albania had only come to hand by the last mail. He also made apparently conflicting assertions as to his own previous movements. To another-resident lie spoke familiarly of Mr Wilford, M.P. and declared that it was "Tommy" who had "crsuaded him to remain in New Zealand. This "Tommy" stylo of language does not appear to be in keeping with princely dignity, but savours rather of "tommy rot." To put it plainly, the "Chronicle" says it is time Prince Pikran satisfied the public as to his Ixnia fidesV ■ *
