PLANS FOR THE SEASON
A mooting of the Executive Committee of the Nelson jßeautitying society was held on Wednesday evening, when the president plr I. ii. Adams; presided. There- was a lull attendance, l'ho re-port of Mr. Glen, superintendent of the Wellington city reserves,'was considered, and a number of other matters discussed.
A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Alex Wilkie, whose gue^t Mr Gitn was during his <stay in Nelson. It was resolved to thank the Wellington City Council for granting Mr Glen permission to visit this city. It was reported that Mr T. Bortoi), of Pahiattia, had oifcred the Society 5U standard trees for street planting.— The offer was accepted with thanks. It was .resolved, amidst applause, to invite Mr J. G. Littlejohn, City Engineer to become a member of the Society,* executive.
Offers of tanks for Britannia HeightsPark were received from Messrs Pagf and Sons and Mr. H. ividson. Both offers were.accepted with thanks. It was decided to ask the City Council to run a half-inch pipe to the reserve, itbeing thought that the pressure from the weir would be sufficient to reach: the reserve, when there was little drawing from the mains. It was decided that a start bo mad<v immediately with the collection of subscriptions for the ensuing year.
