TOURIST DEPARTMENT'S EARNINGS.
The revenue earned by tho Tourist division.of the Department of Agriculture during the season was £28,048, being an increase of £1732 over the previous year's earnings, and the highest yet obtained. A great success for the new booking service is recorded The revenue derived from this source for the first fourteen months after its inauguration was £1343, and the earnings of the twelve months just ended have realised £1551. The tours booked at the different agencies numbered about 6,000 and £32,245 was collected by the Department from this source, alone. The- increased attractions at tho Waitomo Caves have sent up the revenue to £2400.
