MR JOHN GARDINER HAMILTON.

Capetown, July 8

The death is announced ef Mr John Gardiner Hamilton, M.V.0., formerly a meiiibsr of the Transvaal Parliament. He served with distinction in the Boer war.

Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Transvaal Assembly, and Chief Opposition Whip, during the life of thai) Parliament. He held the Queen's and King's medals and clasps for the South African war, and was mentioned in despatches. He was president of the Transvaal Chamber of Mines in 1910.
