ODDFELLOWSHIP.

LOYAL NELSON LODGE

. The half yearly summoned meeting of the Loyal Nelson Lodge, No 3615, Manchester Unity of Oddfellows,, was held on Wednesday evening at the lodge room, Waimca street. The actingNoble Grand Bro A. Gross presided, and there was a good attendance of members, 'iiie I'rov. Grand Muster, Bro W. Thompson, paid an official visit to the lodge., Owing to his recent serious illness the Prov C. S. Bro W. Shrimpton was unable to bo present. The auditor's report and balance sheet for the past half year were read and adopted. Tho total funds of the Lodge now amounts to £5108 7s 4d, made up as follows : —Sick and funeral fund, £5060 12s 4d; benevolent fund, £43 10s; and management fund, £4 15s. During the half year £39 19s Sd was paid into the district widows' and orphans' fund.; The sum of £162 16s 8d was disbursed as sick pay. The following were elected as delegates to attend the district meeting to be held at Nelson: P.G's. Bros J. Armstrong, N. H. Robertson, F. Cross, F. Graham,, and the permanent secretary, Biro W. L. H'esseltine.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —Grand Master, Bro F. C. Christall; Noble Grand, Bro Wm .Wilkeus; Vice Grand, Bro T. Ellis; elective secretary, Bro F. Graham. They were duly installed by the Prov. Grand Master. The following remain in office: The permanent secretary, Bro V. L. Hesso'ltino; treasurer, Bro J. Armstrong. During the evening the Grand Master gave a brief account of his visit to Wellington, tlio occasion being the installation of His Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington, into the Independent Order of Oddfellows, and at the conclusion was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

It was unanimously decided to convey to the provincial correspondence secretary (Bro Shriinpton) the Lodge's hearty congratulations upon his recovery from.his recent serious illness.
