Auckland, June 28. Tlio proposal to establish King's College, at present tho private property of Mr G: T, Major, principal, on a permanent, basis, was completed to-night.; The main conditions specified by Mr Major when making his generqus offer to hand over the school grauitously to the citizens of Auckland, were that £20,()00 should be subscribed to be sp«nt on the buildings, including; a school chapel and a new site of at least 20 acres secured. A committee of citizens acting in conjunction with the Old Boys" Association, have succeeded in complying with, the conditions specified, with the result that the large boarding and da" school is reamed for Auckland for all time. Pah Colters* known as Xt John's Collegiate SchooL is to be amalgamiateid with King's College from De^ cemlMi>r next.
