Extract- from Lon-ion "Medical Magazine" for May, 1910:—"Theso ferments, obtained froir the papaw, are made up in the form of an ointment and gargle, and are, recommended as ,an application fto enlarged glandular tissues, tumours and ulcerations. The i present preparation seems to.-combine.., . the most active ferments of the pl.-mr in a successful manner. . Its activity i.vas demonstrated by ""°.veral cases of hypertrophy of the turbfral bodies, and in cases of enlarged tonsils. .Mte» tliree or four weeks' application there was very, -very marked _ improvement. There can be no doubt that the prepar ation is unusually effective, and should very serviceable, obviating the necessity for operative procedures in many cases. Such operative procedures are often adopterl much too hastily. The- presontf ferments are well deserving of a trial, and ii« many cases we have no doubt tho result will bp .siiti;.factory." Papaw.
