Extract from Lomlon "Medical Magazine" for May, 19] o:—"These ftrments, obtained froiv the papaw, are made up in the form of an ointment and gargle, and are recommended as an application )to enlarged glandular tissues, tumours and ulcerations. The present preparation seems to combine the most active ferments ©f the plant in a successful manner. Its activity i-.-is demonutrateel by -^reral cases of hypertrophy of the turbid2l bodies, and in cases of enlarged tonsils. After throe or four weeks' application there was very, very marked impr6vem'ent. There can be no doubt that the preparation is unusually effective, and should prove very serviceable, obviating the necessity for operative procedures in many cases. Such operative procedures are often adopted much too hastily. The present ferments are well deservinfi of a trial, and iij many cases wt> Jinvo no donbt tho result will be satisfactory."
