U r-ik\! setion is being taken in Auckland by tho employera and their workmen to prevent the introduction of OMn^-e labour into the furniture trade. A pub'i?; ra'&oting. was held to-night under t.3'- .'"int auspices of" the Auckland bt-Qj'^h :;c the New Zealand Federated Fu-r^it'.i"^ Workers' Association, and the in nature manufacturers, when two .■resolutions were unanimously passed, one expressing apprehension at the pro-r-otr,al to introduce Chinese labour into ihu trade in the Dominion, and petitioning Parliament to pass legislation to prevent injury to any industry by iho introduction of Asiatic labour; and tho other asking the Government to place a prohibitive tariff on wicker and rattan furniture made- by Asiatic labour. ~
