THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

MARITIME WEATHER REPORTS

London, June 9

The International Iladiographieal Congress at London lias inaugurated a movement in favour of international action to make daily wireless reports of weather' conditions experienced at sea compulsory.

With a view to estimating the track and speed of stations, it is proposed to initiate a scheme in the Atlantic under which operators on steamers on the eastward half of the ocean will be asked to transmit the reports to London, and those on the westward half to Washington.
