WORKERS' DWELLINGS.
NELSON SITE SELECTED,
A meeting of applicants and intending iipplicants for workers' dwellings was held at tbd Council Chambers last evening, when tho question of sites was considered and decided. Mr. Harry Atmore, M.P., occupied the chair, and! explained the provisions oi the Act vary fully and invited questions. Mr. R. T. Sadd, Commissioner <»•£ Crown Lands, was in attendance with plans of the various sections offered. Thox' were carefully scrutinised by th*s applicants, questions being asked and answered.
A hailot was then taken under th« supervision of Mr. Sadd; Mr. W. J>ock. Mr. Tyson, (representing th©. Labour Department) and Mr. At mom. Tho result showed that the applicants weii> unanimously in favour of the site near Trafalgar Park, owned by Jli. Arnold. Mr. "Stevens, on behalf of tho applicants, referred in eulogistic terras to Mr Atmore's action in pushing the proposal along, and moved that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded him. In ifc ho includi'd Mr. Sadd, who had devoted a gre.')t deal of ti:ne to tlin mattejl, and also .Messrs. Lock and Tyson for their assistance.
The motion w;i.s carried unanimously, and .Mr.^Atmore briefly replied, thanking the meeting for their recognition of his sr-'i-vicos. lli> said it was tho, duty of their member to forward their interHstfi.
