Lieutenant Shirase gives a glowing account of his Antarctic exploration work but Tada, t]jo secretary of tlio expedition, declares that no dash to the/Pole was attempted. The- exploration was limited to a fortnight, owing to the perfunctory nature of the expedition, which was split up by jealousies.
