Mr. Robert Allan, of tho Auckland Clothing and Drapery Company, who sustained severe injuries to his chest and head by falling over a steep face on the hills iit the back of the reservoir on Sunday night while returning from a. day's tramp, is progressing as well as can be expected considering the nature of his injuries. At the ingleneuk of the Provincial Scottish Society on Monday evening, feeling reference was made, by the Chief (Mr. W. J. S. Smith) and Mr. Barrowman. to Mr. Allan, who was the founder of the Society, and it was resolved to send a letter sympathism&i with Mrs. Allan and family in their misfortune.

Tho Port Mission Hall was crowded to the doors last evening to witness an entertainment arranged by Miss Gilbert in aid of the organ fund. The school children in connection with that portion of All Saints' parish comprised the performers, and the entertainment proved such an undoubted success that it will probably be repeated. Numerous requests have been made to this effect by those who were unable to attend last evening, and by those who could not secure seats. The performers and their instructress deserve credit for the manner in which the items were rendered. Thelma Gabrielson and Pattie Chapman j Chinese umbrella, dnneo, girls: "Very Worst Girls," Ivy Grossi, Lena Gabrielson and chorus;-"You Mustn't," Rena Boyes, Ada Lucas, Harry and Roy Talbot; "A Surprise Visit," humorous, chorus: "Old Black Pete.," trio, Lena Gabrielson, Ida Grossi and Lily Horton: "Flower Bells," chorus of girls; Pinafore song, chorus; "O, Won't you buy a Dolly," Thelma Gabrielson. Rbna Tai- ( bot, Pattie Chapman, Ada Tonkin. Thermal item was a wax works. In all the pieces the dresses were very tasteful.
