SUPPLYING AN INTOXICATED PERSON WITH LIQUOR.
Sarah Ahearn, pleaded guilty to a charge of having supplied liquor to a person named Edward lioberts with intoxicating liquor at the. Custom House Hotel on April 25th while ho was in a state of intoxication.
Mr. C. J. Harl<?y said that defendant had no idea that the man was in a state of intoxication.' He had walked down from the town and to show that defendant was' not aware that Roberts was drunk, she. supplied him with six bottles of beer in the presence of Constable Tonkin, w,hom s she knew. Roberts did not order the beer, but snid ho would take it. a way.1
Sorgfc. Mullany said that no ordinary person could fail to see- that tho man was considerably under the influence £>f liquor.
Tho best restorative is Brandy, and the best Brandy is MartelPs.
Defendant was fined 20a and ordered to'pay 9s costs.
