Mr Mitchinson, when presiding at a meeting of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, announced that the directors were taking a referendum of London shareholders on tho desirability of seeking a new property in order to spread tho risks. Ho regretted that they were unable to consult the New Zealand shareholders, as it would entail a delay of several months, but action would be taken only if a substantial majority of English shareholders favoured tho proposal.
