CATLINS RAILWAY LINE.

Dunedin, May 9. The Prime Minister this morning received a deputation from the Catlins Railway League. They asked that sufficient be placed on the estimates to complete the iine within a year. Mr. Mackenzie said he did not think this was possible in view of tho opinion expressed by the country against the great borrowing that had taken place. Rightly or wrongly, the people, wero-against borrowing, and if borrowing occurred in future, pro rata this lino would'get its share. He would do his utmost to continue a policy~of progress.. With regard to the Catlins line, it was one of tho great features of Dunedin.
