WAKEFIELD
Tho Stato schools re-opened on the 15th, after having been closed for hoppieking.
I Miss L. Grant, a lady from Home, visited Wakeficld and gave practical 1 lossoris to Sunday cchoal teachers and scholars on Monday, and Tuesday ovenings in the Sunday school, between 50 and 60 being present. She is very skilful, and her visit will be highly appreciated by all interested in Sunday school work. A meeting of the local Bowling Club was held on Tuesday ovening. The club is in a prosperous condition. It was decided to close the gren on Saturday, and invitations to neighbouring clubs are forwarded, asking them to visit Wakefield then. After closing the ->vi 11 bo top-dressed ready for next year, Tho annual meeting of householders for the election of a school committee for next year takes place in the school on Monday night. The annual meeting in connection with St. John's Church for the election of a vestry takes place in tho Sunday school on Tuesday evening. Tho church vestry have had seven large concrete steps put in near thechurch door making the steep ascent to tho church yard easier; they have also in hand ten steps, in concrete, from tho main road to the church, on the north side. These will bo of great benefit to churchgoers from Church Valley.
The Bowling Club are to hold a concent during the first week in May.
