INTRUDER TAKEN RED-HANDED

AN EXCITING ENCOUNTER

ANOTHER. MAN ARRESTED

(Received April 6, 2.10 a.m.) Sydney, April 5. An exciting encounter occurred at North Sydney last night. Mr Andrew Cormack was locking np his house when ho was confronted by a masked man, wlio presented a, revolver at his j head. Cormack knocked the revolver aside and closed with the man, and they straggled and wrestled the length of the garden. Cormack's cries brought his brother, and together they disabled tho intruder and conveyed him to the police station. The police also arrested an armed man in the city early this morning, and upon searching him found a portion of the proceeds of one of the recent numerous burglaries. Tho man fought savagely before he was overpowered.
