There lias been a great deal of talk lately about the decrease of business in the liquor trade owing to the heavy duties imposed on the sale of spirits. It would seem that this decrease of business only applies to the cheap and deleterious kinds of spirits as the distillers of the best whiskies report successful business. In the case..of White Horse Whisky so much has the demand and popularity increased that it has necessitated the extension of the business premises of Messrs Mackie and Co. and the firm has now oponed a branch office at 21. Dale street, Liverpool, under the supervision of .Mr Percy Christian.*
