OXFORD WINS BY SIX LENGTHS
WEATHER AGAIN UNPROPITIOUS
London, April 1
• The University boat race Mas rowed again to-day, when Oxford won by six lengths. There was a strong north westerly wind and choppy water. The boats had seven inch splashboards, with bladders under tho seats. Cambridge started quicker, but the boats wore level at the half mile, y> hen a heavy sea and a hailstorm were encountered. After three-quarters of a mile had been covered, Oxford steadily drew ahead, and led by two lengths at Hammersmith Bridge. Oxford took Cambridge's water half a mile later, and thenceforward it was a procession, despite Cam bridge's plucky spurts. Oxford won by six lengths, in 22 minutes 5 seconds.
Now Zealand had a representativel in the Cambridgo crow in the person of Mr D. C. Collins., sou of the Ron Dr Collins, of Wellington. Tho respective crews had at tho latest advicofs boon selected as follows : —
