WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET.

Wellington, March 31. Tho New Zealand Fruit and Produce Company report on the Wellington fruit and nroduee marl&t as follows : —Prices are on about the same level as last week. Poaches have declined in quantity, and advanced in price. Tho demand for best kinds of dessert apples and pears .is good, but poor for the inferior varieties. Tomatoes .keep,up a good price, and, owing to tliie demand from outside places, wo' anticipate the price keeping tip. Cape gooseberries are coming forward, and meeting with a ready salo at from 4kl to 5d per lb. Cucumbers and pickling onions are in request at satisfactory prices to growers. Cauliflowers are also in good request, but cabbages are a glut on the market.

The following are the" current prices for the week: App'es: Cox's Orange 7s to 8s od, Ribstones 7s to Bs, Jonathans 5s 6d to 6s 6d, others 5s to 6s, Munro's Afristons. Ohinemuris, Glori Mundi 4s to ss, Reinnette. Canada 3s 9d to 4s 6d. others 3s 6d to 4s. Pears: Mario Louise 7s to 8s; Bishop's Thumbs^ 6s to (is 6d; Burgamots 5s to 5s 6d; Vicar's and Napoleons ss; all per case. Peaches : Gold dust 3s 6d to 5s ; Sol ways 2s 9d to 3s 6d, others 2s 6d to 3s. Plums : October purple 3s to 4s, Coe's red 2s to 3s 3d.

Tomatoes, Hntt. ripe, 3s to 3s 6d, part coloured 2s 9d to 3s, Nelson 2s 6d to 3s, green Is 9d ; quinces Is 8d to Is 9d, all per half case; mushrooms 10s to Us 6d; cucumbers! 10s .to 12s 6d per banana case; gritpes 8d to lOd per Ib; .potatoes, £4 10s to £5; onions £8 to £8 10s, pickling 2d per ib; cauliflower 9s to 10s per sack; French beans 3d per lb; peas Is 2d per peck; eggs Is 6d per'dozen; chaff £4 10s; walnuts (>d to 7d per lb ; passion fruit 5s to 6s per half case.
