Stratford, March 28. A Reform Party rally was held at Stratford and was a most successful gathering, tho Town Hall being filled to overflowing.

Mr. Mar-icy, and the members r.ccotnnanying him, were received with prolonged applause. Messrs. Wilson, Newman, Pearce, Gtithrio and Okey all eulogised Mr. Hine's work, and a presentation of a purßo of 100 sovereigns was made from iiis constituents.

Tho Leader of the Opposition Was received cheers. Me said that they wero present to do honour to Mr. Hine and then dealt with the past short session, nud referred to tho country as bo--ing run by half a dozen members of Parliament who would bo allowed to run tho important business of Ihe cumtrv for the nrxt three months without, chock. Til.. (lovo.nior's Speech had been the most extraordinary ever placed before Parliament in any country, containing bribe-? in every lino and sentence. He did not think any''attempt wr.uld ov-c-r bo made to give legislative effect te tho proposals. though it was wrong that any country should submitto the Ca iciis proposals. The Reform Pnrty w^rs true liberals who had nsve-r attempted to put class against class. The Reform Party really desired to promote closer settlement, and encourage tho man. who rn.ido the best use of bis land. He denied that his Party was guilty of misrepresentation at the lato election, or that it was beaten, but would fight on for ever and ever if need bo.

Tho following resolution was unanimously carrie): "That this meeting desires to convey to Mr. Massey its deep appreciation of the statesmanlike manner in v.\l;ieh he has for years championed tho people's cause in the direction of sound governmnt, on truly d-e----mocratic principles, and also heartily congratulates Mr Massey and tho members of the Reform Party upon the splendid fight put up by them at the last election, and thr. (treat success achieved by them in their efforts to secure for th-e Dominion clean Government and honest r.dministraticn of ita affairs."
