Over 400 men and girls ai-o directly concerned in the strike of hotel employees at Broken Hill. Boarders aro making their own beds and preparing thejr own meals. Bread carts dociino to deliver bread to houses not accepting the union log, Tho strikers paraded the street, entering tho hotels whore non-unionists were employed, and temporarily took charge and ejected the non-unionists. The police had great difficulty in restoring order.

Tho members of tlio Municipal Employees' Union declined to sweep the streets in front of non-union houses. Tho union is demanding 25s and keep for girls, and £3 15s for waiters and barmen, irrespective of age.
