Mr Burlinson was last night mado the decipiont of an enlarged photograph of: the local staff. Mr It. P. Giblin, tho branch manager, mado tho presentation, and in doir^ so spoko in eulogistic tern's of t;;e manner .in. which Mr Burlinsou had discharged his duties, and of tho general good qualities ho had lisplayod while in Nelson.
Mr. W. St. G. Douglas. Chief Postmaster at Duncdin, retires from the postal'service at the end of March on three months.' leave of.absence. After having been several .years in a mercantile, office, Mr Douglas entered the accountants' branch of the Telegraph Department, Wellington, as a clerk in March. 1809, Mr. Douglas is thus retiring after forty-three years' servios. He can lay claim to two records. _Ho has been an officer in charge since he was twenty-one years of ago, and during all those years he has never once been off duty on :sick leave.
