Albert Roevos, at the Norwich Assizes, pleaded guilty to murdering his son, and ho called evidence to rebut the prison doctor's testimony that he was insane, and said he desired to bi> punished. Tho jury agreed that the prisoner was Jit to stand his trial, despite Mr Justice C'hannoll's contrary opinion, and the man was sentenced to death.

Yvonno Bortellier, aged 17, a brilliant musician, fatally shot with a revolver his mother and step-father while they were asleep in bed at St Denis. He ran to his lover's house in the middle of the night and confessed to the crime, alleging that his step-father illused his mother.
