APPEAL TO .MR FISHER.

Syesnoy, Jan. 31. Air Finlayson, member for Brisbane, wired to Mr Fisher: "Can nothing be done to summon a .compulsory conference? The situation is rapidly becoming alarming; tho city is excited, and business paralysed. Serious, trouble is easily possible." .Mr Kislier, commenting on the situation, said he was sorry a strike had been found necessary. In his opinion it should never have been.
