MANY NARROW ESCAPES
[Press Association—CorTßioHT.] (Received Jan 7, 5.5 p.m.) New York, Jan 6. At Chicago the Transit Hotel was burned down. The guests escaped to the roof, but a number;of girl employees were trapped on the top floor. They were rescued by 'the firemen; whose efforts wero hampered by frozen hydrants. >f
