A PECULIAR SUICIDE.

Wellington, Jan 7

Thomas Peddie, aged 28 years, a sheep farmer of Colyton, near Feilding, met his death on Saturday night by jumping from an upstairs window of a room in a boarding house in Molesworth street, kept by Miss Curtis. Deceased arrived in town with his mother and sister on Saturday evening, December 30th, and as ho appeared strange in his manner an attendant was engaged to look after him. The attendant was sent to the railway station for luggage, and deceased, eluding his mother and sister, ran upstairs and raising the window leapt out. Death was instantaneous. Deceased's father, who died three years ago, was for many years an hotelkeeper at Napier.
