The Inspector, in his report, strongly favoured the contract, system in hrger jobs of mad metalling.— Resolved that in future any street gravelling of any magnitude be contracted for.

Cr. Moffatt strongly recommended the appointment of a finance committee, who should report to tho Council «t each meeting.—No action taken.

Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £110 10s 3d.
