Ottawa, Jan 4. A cigarette exploded a can of gasoline at same motor works at Winnipeg, resulting in a lire which destroyed the buildings, together with 20 automobiles, a terrace of eight houses and several stores.

The firemen fought the flames in a temperature of 30 below zero, the water freezing,,on the ladders and in tinl hose.
