In the House of Lords Lord Morloy, President of the Council, replying to Lord Cumin respecting Persia, said that the Imperial Government's* policy was to maintain the Anglo-Russian Convention nnd mediate benevolent*y and if Britain and Rusbia kept together it was believed that the world would soon see the solution of the difficulty. Russia had no intantion ot supporting the ex-Shah, and Sir Edward Grey had warned Russia that it was impossible for Britain in any crisis to recognise him.
