London, Dec S. Colonel Griffiths Boscawen introduced tho Unionist bocial Ilcfonh Committee's Housing of the Working Classes Bill. It proposes clearing the slums and providing accommodation in towns and country districts, tho Treasury to grant £1,000,000 yearly nnd the local authorities to nid in the net cost. The authorities' operations would bo under the supervision of thro» Housing Commissioners, one of whom would be a medical officer of health.

In the House of Commons tho Naval Prize Bill was read v third time by 172 votes to 125. Mr Atherley Jones' amendment was negatived by 212 votes to 115. Sir It. B. Finlay, Sir Edward Grey, and others re-discussed the conversion of merchantmen into cruisers. Sir Edward Grey declared that tho Bill had not pledged the country to ratify the Declaration of London, and he added. "If others Jiang back we shall do the same." The Coal Minoa -Bill was read a pecond time by the House of Lords.
