FIRE.
OUTBREAK ON LAMBTON QUAY

At one o'clock this morning a lire broke out in a two-storied building at Thorndon Quay, occupied by the A. and R. Food Co. The fire started in the engine room, and spread to tho second floor and roof. The brigade quickly subdued the flames, and the damage was not extensive. The building is insured for £1000 in the London and Lancashire office, and the stock for £1245 in the National office. The cause of the outbreak is supposed to be the averheating of an exhaust pipe of the gas engine.
