Taumarunui, Nov. 23,

Mr. Massey was announced to speak here to-night in reply to the speech delivered last evening by the Prime Minister, but this afternoon a telegram was received from tlio Leader of the Opposition at Taihapo stating that owing to a misunderstanding as to tho time of tho starting of his train from Marton ho regretted that he could not reach here this evening. Mr Massey stated that ho would speak hero next week. Mr. C. K. Wilson, tho Opposition candidate for tho Taumarunui seat, who had been announced to speak in conjunction with Mr. Massey, thus had the platform to himself. He had a largely attended meeting. He received a hearty vote of thanks.
