Nsw Plymouth, Nov. 22. The Taranaki Agricultural Society's annual metropolitan spring show was held to-day The weather was sho.very and unpleasant. The entries were nearly double those of last year and constitute a record for the Society. Tho principal increases are in horstv,, sheep, dairy produce and dogs, ill which sections there is an increase oi 250 entries. Tho following were awarded championships: Draught, mare, Alex. Hastie (Norman by); thoroughbred mare, J. Bond (New Plymouth); ilolstein bull, Newton King (New Plymouth) cow "Newton King ; Ayrshire bull F. W. Wilkio (Hawera), cv.,, Olson Bros (Egmont Village); Jers. v bull, W. V. Harknoss (Tariki), cow, A. Ward (Mho). In dairy produce Messrs Lovell and Christinas' 75 guinea trophy, and tho Taranaki Agricultural Society's challenge trophy went to the Taieri and Peninsula Co., Duuedin and.Oamaru filling first and second places in each class. In cheese Kaponga was first, Warea second. There was good competition in the butter classes. The show will continue to-morrow, but the weather indications are not good.
