POSTAL SEEVICE,
(Received Sept 30; 1.10 a:in:) London, Sept 29. Mr Horbert Samuel, PostmasterGeneral, received a deputation of the national committee of the Postal Telegraph Associations, and reserved decision until ho had consulted his colleagues regarding a fresh inquiry into service'eonditions. Ho strongly Warned ij, small and irresponsible minority against raising threats of a postal strike. Public opinion would require any Postmaster-General, whatever his party, to take steps to render a recurrence of it impossible, even if they might intensify the temporary dislocation inherent to a strike. A strike of civil servants was different owing to the high degree of security of tenure, and hence their reciprocal obligation not to withdraw their labour from the State.
