A CAUCUS MEETING.

(Received July 29, 0.45 a.m.) Sydney, July 28,

There were no important developments in the political situation to-day. A cable from Mr McGowen is still awaited.

The caucus had a lengthy meeting and discussed the situation. It is understood it was decided in view of the bye-olections that an addition be made to the Conversion Act Repeal Rill reproviding for safeguarding all the existing rights of conversion. It is reported that Mr Neilson opposed this decision.
