Wellington, July 24. The High Commissioner's report, dated London 22nd July, is as follows ■ (quotations unless otherwise specified are average market prices on spot):— Mutton: Trade for all classes has 1 been very slow, and "rices barely maintained. Canterbury 3f d, North Island 33<1, River Plate' 33d. The lamb market is weak, there being lees domand. Canterbury sd, other than Canterbury 4fd ; River Plato 4Jd. Beef: The market is dull and the weather lately has been unfavourable to the sale of beef: New Zealand | hinds 3}d, fores 2}. Butter: The market is very firm, and there is considerable speculation as the weather is too dry. Choicest New Zealand butter 112s, Australian 108s, Danish 121s, Siberian 107s. Cheese: The market is firm, there being good demand. Coloured 61s, white 60s. Hemp: The market is dull and the auction sales this week closed, with a weak demand, there being no transactions of importance. New Zealand good fair on spot, per ton £21 ; fair grade £19 10s; fair current Manila £20 10s ;'

forward shipments are about the same. The output for the week from Manila was 10,000 bales. Wheat: There is a limited demand for better grade, New Zealand long berried wheat, ex granary per quar* ter of 4961bs 35s 6d, -short berried 455.

Oats: The market is iirmer and the supply falls short of tlio demand. New Zealand oats, short Spatrowbills, ex granary per quarter of 3841bs 21s; Danish, per quarter of 3201b, 17s 6d. Beans: The market is rather quiet New Zealand beans, f.a.q (old crop) per 5041b, 345. Peas: The market is dull and 'very little business is doing. New Zealand peas (Partridge) per 5041b 395. Wool: The market remains firm.
