Wellington, July 24. Tlie following is tbo Key. D. 0. Pates' weather forecast and summary: A southerly storm has developed with a falling barometer in the north, and a rise in the south. Heavy rain lias fallen in parts, and much snow in the South Island. Conditions have not been so severe in the North, but are still ominous. Present indications are for cold and stormy weather, and heavy rain generally, and snow on higher levels in tho South. The rivers will probably be flooded on. the eastern coasts pi both islands. Southerly winds strong to gale will probably prevail, and a rising baroinfter oveiywhere shortly.
