NEWS OF THE DAY.
The case of Houldsworth v. Gibbs, a claim for £50, was to have been continued at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, but owing to the counsel for defendant, Mr Magiuuity, being engaged at the Education Board, an adjournment was granted sine die, Mr Fell consenting.
The current issue of the "Windsor Magazine," to hand from Messrs Jackson and Co., makes a splendid Coronation number, for it includes sevoral. lavishly illustrated articles dealing with themes connected with the ap. proaching ceremonies of State. Another subject incidental to the Coronation season, "The Festival of Empire," is fully described in nn articlo of which tho illustrations will form quite a valuable souvenir cf that great pageant. The fiction of tho number includes complete stories by Justus Miles Formnn, Robert Barr, Keble Howard, Mrs F. A. Stool. Norman Tnnes. Emma Brook?, O. ]i. Lancaster, Editli Dart. Charles G. D. Roberts, and 11. B. Marriott Watson.
The exhibition of the Wellington Industrial A^T.ni-intion. which has lipnn such ;! M.cctiS. closes on 20th July. The attendance has ke»t ui> remarkably v. .'ll. The reason for tin's is that apart from the exhibition itself there are so many attractions.
