Paris, July 11
Violent scenes occurred in the Chamber on a Socialist motion to reinstate the dismissed railway men. M. Caillaux promised to approach the companies, but refused to coerce them. He added that though he agreed with tho Socialists regarding democratic reforms, he never agreed with them with regard to demagogy.
Amid disorder and tumult M Jaures hurled vituperative epithets at the opposite deputies, while the extreme Left and the Left shouted at each other. There was difficulty in preventing them from coming io blows, the sitting having to be suspended.,' Later a vote of confidence in the Government was passed by 433 to 86.
