NELSON RUGBY UNION.
A meeting of the Management Committee was held in Sta'.lard's room last evening, the President (Mr. It. AY. Stiles) presiding, and there were also present Messrs Logan, Johnston, Trussing, Hurley, Shrimpton, Kitching and the secretary. Tlie Kiwaka Club entered a protest regarding a decision of the referee in the College-Riwaka junior matcli last Saturday.—Resolved, that the Riwaka Club be written to, pointing out that the decision did not affect the result. Regarding the application of G. Bennett for a transfer from the Rival Club, it was pointed out by this Club that they were willing to give the player concerned a game in their senior team and the request was refused. The Old Boys Club applied for Vercoe to be placed on their list, and it was resolved that Y-ereo:? must comply with the rules ami be registered a month before he can play. Mr. McKay waited on the Union re providing a competition for College lower forms. It was resolved that"a competition be provided as asked for, the College to submit ru'.es for approval.
The report of the sub-committee re school grant was approved. Mr. Shrimpton was appointed to represent the IT.nion at tho conference between Marlborough, West Coast, Buller and Nelson Rugby Unions which is to be held to-day. The Albion Club forfeited to the Kia Oro Club in their senior match next Saturday.
Resolved that J. Brock be added to thp Rover Club's list.
Seven players who had taken partin professional footba!! last Saturday were suspended.
A voto of thanks to the chair ended the meeting.
