Melbourne, July 10. The acting Victorian l'remier iiatj written to tho Federal Government rejecting tho proposal to pay as from •July Ist last \ per cent interest on transferred properties and set aside not less than half per cent as a sinking •fund for the liquidation of debt claims. The acting Premier requires that current interest, at 33 per cent should be paid, and considers that the Commonwealth's proposal was likely to seriously rupture rolations between the Commonwealth and the States. Tlie acting Premier is taking steps to call an inter-State conference to deal with the matter.
