ANOTHER UNKNOWN ORIGIN.

Ashburton, July 10. A boarding house at Mcthven, of 18 rooms, was totally destroyed by fire this afternoon. The building was owned and occupied by George Doro. Tho origin of the fire is unknown. Only a portion of the furniture was saved. Fortunately- the wind was favourable, else other buildings must have gone too. The new Bank of New Zealand buildings suffered somewhat from heat many windows being broken. Insurance is £250 on the building, and £95 on the furniture in the Northern Company.
