SATURDAY'S GAMES
Wai Mai v. Federal
These teams mot in the men's senior competition at the Reserve, Wai Mai winning an even game by three to nil. There was no score unti. well into the first spell when Switzer scored from ti short pass from Wbitwell. Up to this times play had been even fuid both teams h;:d alternately been attacking and defending. Shortly afterwards Wliitwell shot, and the goalkeeper stopped the ball, but in turning to find it in the mud, pushed it over the line with his boot. Till the ond of the spe 1 play was again even and both teams were at times hard pressed. At half time Wai Mai were 2to the good. In the second spoil Stratton scored .the third nfl?.l, the ball rolling in slow]./. Federal then attacked strongly for some time, but fai'ed to got through. Ono shot passed the goal keeper, but another back saved, while Miller following in a shot from outside the circle very nearly reached the ball in time. Wai Mai then returned to the attcelr and had several corners in quick succession, but Federal cleared and attacked again. At this stage J?ockey (Wai Mai) received a heavy blow in the face from the bal', and lie retired for a minute or two, but time then sounded with Federal still attacking. Messrs F. Ryder and H. Savage referoed.
In the ladies' competition Collego met Motueka at' the Reserve, and after a good game the former won by three goals to one,
