-NEW ZEALAND BEATS QUEENSLAND.

The weather was fin? and about ten thousand people were present. In the first half the New Zeelanders played with a. breeze behind them, and showed brilliant combination. The Queenslanders tackled and fumbled badly. Play was very fast and strenuous with, the result that several players were temporarily disabled. The New Zealanders had much the better of this half and badly beat the Quecnslanders in the scrum, and scored most of their points as a result.
In the second half play was vigorously contested, and both, sides showing splendid combination. The tackling was deadly and the New Zealanders were frequently on the defensive. The Queenslandcrs lost several certain tries through fumbling when close to the visitor's line.
The closing stages were very exciting. The Quecnslantlers scored < twice, the remainder of the points being results of penalty kicks. The following were the alterations in the teams: — Queensland: O'Brien, Heidke, and Murtagh replaced Truoman, Munro, and Joins; Jvew Zealand : Aseher, GilleLt, McDona'd. Mason and Dunning replaced Winder, Siddells, Keen, Stnnaway and Milne. At half time New Zealand was 13 and Queensland 2. the final score being New Zealand 18. Senger, McDonald, Mitchell and Spraguc scoring tries, of which Seager converted three, and Queensland 14.
